KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 17.15 g, 12 h), Chios, Xenon, magistrate, circa 190-165. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY / ΞΕΝΩN Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, ΠΟ and sphinx seated left on amphora. Bauslaugh, Posthumous, Series 66. Price 2418. Very rare. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, good very fine.
